more pictures...

These first few pictures are from our recent trip to the zoo with our good friends Kathy and Sam. It was a gorgeous day - and even though most of the animals were napping, we had a splendid time!

Miles posing for his photo-op.

Miles' best-bud, Sam driving the tractor. (Is his face not hillarious?)

Family pic at the petting zoo (but we didn't do any petting.)
This must be Miles' tough-guy face. I don't think I have seen this face before.

Recent episode with some mashed potatoes.

He is oh-s0-proud of his little mess.

This is one of Miles' favorite toys. We recently purchased him his own keyboard so he did not have to share with mommy.

I am very busy. Have your people call my people.

Miles is sitting up very well these days. We still use the Boppy to cushion his dives from side to side and backwards.

Thats all folks. Come back soon!

Playtime...

Sorry it has been a while since I have posted anything. Miles and I have been under the weather and my work has been stacking up so I haven't quite gotten around to it.

Recently I have realized that there is really no reason to buy any toys for Miles. Now that he is older he is awake longer and plays more. He plays with his age appropriate toys but they really don't entertain him for as long as non-toys. His favorite play thing is my glasses. I can't hardly wear them unless I don't really need them because they do not stay on my face more than a minute or two. He also enjoys anything paper and crinkley, little plastic cups, or whatever you are playing with - such as the keyboard or mouse, remote control, telephone. We even have given him an old remote control and old cell phone to play with but he would rather have yours.

Miles is sitting up some now - finally. He can prop himself up forward but as soon as he chases a toy to the left or the right, he tips over. I place him sitting up in the U of the Boppy pillow that I used when he was an itty bitty baby and he can sit there and play while I work. I don't have to worry about him crashing over and smacking his head on the floor. He rode in a buggy at Target for the first time without his carseat a week ago. He starred at everything very wide-eyed and held on to the sides of the buggy steadying himself. I think he got a little weary of it because he got fussy by the end of our shopping excursion. I am going to have to get one of those cart covers now. I'm not normally a germ-o-phobe but I cringe at the thought of him chewing on the handle of the cart since I know as soon as he figures it out, he will be knawing on it like he does everything else. A brand new Babys-R-Us just opened here so we will have to go see what kind of selection they have.
